Charlotte Crime Crack-up: Your Weekly Review of Crime in Charlotte

*Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police didn't issue a Watch Commander's Report on Thursday this week because of computer trouble, so this week's report is one day short.

The Watch Commander's report is the who, what, where and when of crime in Charlotte-Mecklenburg.
It is released nearly every day to the media by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police. It's a compilation of what happened each evening while most of us slept. It's not a full list of all the crime that took occurred here, since it doesn't include everything that took place during the day.
But since a good portion of the armed robberies, shootings and other violent crimes go down at night, it captures a lot of the county's crime.
As part of a new feature on this blog, I'll publish a full, unedited copy of the week's Watch Commander's reports each Friday.
Here's the report. Enjoy. But I warn you. After a few weeks of reading this, you won't go near a convenience store again.

We need more gun control! 23,000 gun laws are obviously not enough. Maybe if we raise the minimum wage, the crime rate may fall?

We need to punish the criminals that are already caught and send the message that crime doesn't pay. As for gun control, we need illegal gun control, and less legal gun control. The more armed law abiding citizens there are, the less likely criminals will attempt the things they do. I don't think raising the minimum wage will thwart this type of crime, the majority of these criminals aren't interested in working, and many of the violent crimes are committed by literal teenagers, not in the 'full time workforce' anyway, they need dicipline by their parents, the school system, and the judicial system.

I think its laughable when I hear someone suggest that there are not enough laws in a country with too many laws. Over 2 million people in prisons in this country, we are what second to China or Russia? Seems to me enacting laws don't do anything to inhibit criminal activity.

We have become a society where, no matter who you are, there is no responsibility for ones actions - your never at fault, its always someone elses fault.

Retribution over Rehabilitation has proven to be the downfall of civil societies.
