The Senate Immigration Bill: A National Security Nightmare
Proponents of the Senate's comprehensive immigration bill are attempting to rhetorically recast the massive amnesty proposal as national security legislation.
Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez has echoed the point repeatedly: "This is a national security bill. We are fixing a national security problem."
In reality, however, the legislation would actually create a national security problem by providing new opportunities and advantages for alien terrorists currently operating on American soil. This paper by University of Missouri-Kansas City Law Professor Kris Kobach explains how in terrifying detail. Here's the link: http://www.heritage.org/Research/Immigration/wm1513.cfm.

On air phone converesation tuesday PM . The phone got garbled. These are my expanded thoughts. Keep up the good work!
Cheep labor is the enemy of progress. In a free enterprise system new machinery is justified on cost savings. The cost of owning equipment is compared with the cost of labor. When labor cost is low it is very difficult to justify new equipment. When labor cost are high it is easy to justify modern equipment. It is just a math problem... New machinery brings better quality which brings more sales which brings lower cost. This is progress. Low labor cost can’t justify modern or even new equipment. With low labor cost you get variance, poor quality, and ever worsening quality.

Wow.
I knew it was bad, but this just goes off the deep end. I can't believe anyone would support a bill that would punch this many holes in our national security. Of course, the assumption is that they care. I agree with Morgan on the Labor cost/Progress issue. If American citizens were doing the work, the wages would creep upward, and people would begin to want those jobs again, at least as an entry-level job, or as a summer job. The work would get done because the pay would rise until someone was willing to do the work. I have written Senator Burr, I am going to call his office tomorrow. I hope many others are doing the same. Make it clear this is a national security nightmare and hinge his re-election on which way he votes on cloture. He is working for us, not us for him.

You are absolutely correct. People are already here that would do the jobs. My husband lost his career by being undercut by illegals. He simply could not cut his rate enough to compete. I have been calling and writing Senator Burr also. I hope everyone will get involved.
